We are always delighted to visit St Georges Park as our hosts are brilliant and the lads always are interested with the coaches that support them. Chelsea & West Ham academy coaches supported the students of the Lichfield City Academy to a penalty shootout win today. TJ with a great penalty before debutant Mitch saved the important sudden death penalty.

Winning two games and drawing one on the way to the final against other academy teams that are more established encouraged again what a great team spirit, passion and desire this team have to win and stay strong together.

We are delighted to have support from St Georges Park with equipment and training facilities. The Lichfield Academy student players at 16 -18 years of age have been in the England national team changing rooms, talked and watched the England U21, photos with Marcus Rashford. The coaching and leadership skills they have received and matches they have played have been invaluable experience for our student players. We are delighted to be supporting the students again this week at St Georges Park with two coaching day visits.

Lichfield Academy players had a mixed fortune of results this week losing in the college league to a strong codsall school. However, at a well established Stafford Town club with a team that had been together for years the Academy produced a fantastic away performance. With captain Ben missing and good players Brandon, Charlie, Robbie still injured and others on the sidelines the team won 4-3 away from home. Reece Winter came back into the side after a lengthy break and put great effort in and scored with a powerful header from a corner.

12 Lichfield Academy players and no goalkeeper you would think the team would be under pressure. But these 12 players have great attitude, desire and professional approach to football. A beautiful sunshine day on a good pitch allowed this team spirit to florish. A new formation was put in place and Alex, Jack & Jordan Gray showed fantastic defending ability to marshall their team and midfield player harry stepped into goal and looked brilliant with his postitive approach to ensuring the game flowed and was positive in all his thoughts.

The first official game of the season for the LichfieldCityFC Academy finally happened with a good performance from the players. On a hot Saturday morning away at a strong Halesowen team the lads looked a solid team in the first half 2-1 down with a great goal from our star striker MAX. Jordan lewis had a few opportunities througout the game which was pleasing for the team and after being fouled by the GK on a one on one it was a poor decision that their was no sending off. The resulting freekick RAINBOW went close.
