Creating memories for our Lichfield City Academy student football players is important and this football tour was outstanding. A great location of Hotel near to the the train station and airport relaxed the group instantly. Only minutes away from the beautiful city of Madrid allowed day and night entertainment to be enjoyed with streets of restaurants, shops, culture and street entertainers to observe.

Lichfield City FC Academy is looking to add talented student football players to the existing team of the age 16-18 players. Witnessing the success of the 2016/2017 season of student/players it is with excitement new recruits that will be added. Several new recruits were provided the opportunity to attend the teams training at St Georges park to receive elite coaching with our partners in a fantastic environment. They impressed and i witnessed great passion, good attitude and skill to do well and the feedback from others was positive; it was good news they enjoyed their day.

Well when you lose 8-0 at the start of the season your mind will have negative thoughts. Our pitch was waterlogged so we decided to play the game again away at the the largest Academy football school Codsall. Brilliant facilities and good 3G pitch. The team needed direction and motivation and with a teambus carrying only 14 lads, Lichfield City Academy needed to be a team. Injuries are happening at this stage of the sesaon and the team had a very difficult training session at St Georges Park on monday -sprint training.

Lichfield City Academy reached another Q-Final and with two frustrating referree decisions lost 2-0. This disappointment was evident to see at the final whistle and the lads deserved a draw for sure. However, the positive and encouraging evidence is this game showed how Lichfield City Academy have developed this season. Halesowen Town FC were the teams first game together in their first league game of this season and the team played well but lost 6-3 and their were several areas of the team to be improved.

Playing football with no whistle...

It will be a fantastic experience for Lichfield City football Academy students to visit Real Madrid training ground to have football coaching from the reserve coaches. The present World and European champions host historical success and the Academy will watch Real Madrid v A Madrid live. Ronaldo world player of the year, Bale, Ramos & Zidane to name a few stars on show. A meal at the training ground should bring anticipation of any eye catching stars. Followed by a day of tution and site seeing tour at the famous ground followed by a meal.

Congratulations to Jordon Lewis on hitting 30 goals to date this season. Its certainly been a team effort of support and attacking play. The team have excellent striker options and it is expected that Max, Joe, Brandon will all hit 20 goals this season. Blake, Jordy, Rainbow, Lika and TJ can all approach 10 goals.

Jordon is a calm student and has scored all types of goals this season from the numer 9 position. Good speed, running and finishing are his skills. Working to the team shape, scoring headers and communication we are working with Jordon to develop his total performance.
